Are you looking for a career change and want to see if a career in recruitment is a good career path and the right path for you?
In this article we share insight into what a career in recruitment entails and why we believe a career in recruitment can offer great benefits, opportunity, development and fulfilment.
Being a recruitment agency you could argue that we are bias, but we genuinely believe that recruitment is a great career. We have seen a huge number of our consultants develop and progress into specialists in their sectors and build reputations as experts where candidates and clients within their sectors trust their knowledge, skills and consultative advice.
What is the role of a Recruitment Consultant?
A Recruitment Consultant is responsible for attracting candidates for job opportunities and matching them to contract and permanent position with clients. When beginning your career in recruitment, you will more than likely be focussed on speaking to candidates, building relationships and growing your specialist network. However, depending on your skillset, you could move straight into a client facing role where you will not only build relationships with candidates but also start building relationships with clients as well.
At Navartis, our Recruitment Consultants specialise in recruitment across Technology, Energy and the Infrastructure and Built Environment, which includes the Construction, Civil Engineering, Rail, Power and Telecoms sectors. Within those sectors, they will usually focus on specific job disciplines, such as Quantity Surveying, Site Management and Planning. This will help you to become an expert in the area you recruit in, helping to build specialist knowledge to help build trust with candidates and clients.
What are the typical duties of a Recruitment Consultant?
From company to company the role of a Recruitment Consultant could be sightly different, however the main duties include;

Networking with candidates via phone, email and face to face meetings

Does a career in recruitment offer progression opportunities?
