The recruitment world is always evolving as time goes on so what a recruitment consultant now does on a daily basis will be to different to those who were working in the industry 10 or even 5 years ago.  So, to make it easy for you we have spoken to one of our Recruitment Consultants,  Jordan who has now been with us for over a year and has been very successful in his career with us so far.   Jordan, as a Recruitment Consultant what do you do on a daily basis?  The day will always start with a team scrum, where we will talk about what we want to get out of that day, or if it’s on a Monday we will talk about the full week. Whether that’s any interviews we’ve got booked in, meetings with clients or specific candidate calls so then we can start to project what we aim to get out of the week. Once we’ve finished that we will then crack on and get on the phones, calling clients we’ve maybe spoken and have that relationship with, or new clients so we are continuing to business develop and grow our desks. We will also go through LinkedIn and search for construction or civil engineering groups and companies to see who’s looking for new hires. Then we will speak to potential candidates who will be a good fit for them. We usually find candidates via LinkedIn or go through those who have applied directly via the website as all the jobs we have are uploaded on there. If the candidate is a good fit for the job then we will submit them in, but if they’re not we will have a conversation to see where else we can potentially put them. The day will always finish with a scrum, we will talk about what we got out of the day, the results and if it all went to plan. If not, then we will roll that into the next day. As you can imagine not every day can go the way you’ve planned as a client could call up with an urgent need. Therefore, you may need to change up your day plan to suit what’s most important.
