Freelance Estimator
Location : Northwest
Engagement : Contract
Rate: Outside IR35 - rate depending upon experience
Duration: 6+ Months ongoing/freelance to pernanent/straight permanent
Homeworking: Flexible for the right person
My client is a reputable Main contractor who holds an excellent reputation in the industry. They have a urgent requirement for an experienced freelance Estimator/Senior Estimator with a background in utilities and infrastructure. They are looking for a commercially astute professional who has experience working on pipework & welding
Key Responsibilities for this Freelance Estimator Role:
- Assisting with the production, strategy and interfacing between various departmental functions to ensure that tender returns are accurately priced, commercially and technically detailed
- Ensuring strict timescales are maintained throughout the tendering process
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and other professionals together with fostering the development of future tender success and new Client opportunities
- Supporting the transition between the tender phase to project handover and delivery
Key Experience for this Freelance Estimator Role:
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Estimator
- Ideally have experience within utilities and infrastructure
- Degree qualified.
- Gas energy sector
- High pressured gas and steel pipelines
- Lead estimator or SQS
- Heavy utility background and heavy engineering
- Weld steel pipes
- Dig trenches
- They need to understand the welding side of things with a lot of testing and process
- Technically they are very specialist
Ideal Person
- They would consider someone with groundworks, big pipe laying experience
- They do temp works and crane lifts
- Need an engineering background , they will consider sub agents / agents who want to transfer into estimating
- Capable of managing people
