About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing soil, rock, and subsurface conditions to inform and guide the design and construction of infrastructure and building projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, project managers, and environmental specialists, to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable project outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site investigations, including soil sampling, rock testing, and ground condition assessments
- Analyze and interpret data to evaluate ground conditions and determine engineering requirements
- Design foundations, retaining structures, and other ground-supporting systems
- Prepare geotechnical reports and provide recommendations for construction projects
- Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure geotechnical solutions are integrated effectively into project designs
- Monitor construction sites to verify compliance with geotechnical recommendations and adjust as needed
- Utilize geotechnical software (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio) to model and predict soil-structure interactions
- Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies for geotechnical challenges, such as landslides or settlement issues
- Stay updated with the latest industry standards, regulations, and best practices in Germany and the EU
- Maintain a strong focus on environmental protection and sustainability throughout all phases of project work
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally in Germany or the EU
- Proficiency with geotechnical analysis and design software (e.g., Plaxis, Geo5, GeoStudio)
- Strong knowledge of German and EU regulations and standards in geotechnical and civil engineering
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and report-writing skills in German (English proficiency is a plus)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience with large-scale infrastructure, tunneling, or renewable energy projects
- Knowledge of environmental engineering principles as they apply to geotechnics
- Certification or professional affiliation with relevant engineering bodies in Germany (e.g., VDI, DGGT)
