Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer
An opportunity with a leading consultancy as a Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their Site & Ground Investigation team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate to develop their career in geo-environmental engineering, working on critical railway and civil engineering projects.


As a Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for gathering site information for Structural and Ground Investigation technical reports. You'll work across a variety of environments including rail, highways, and open land, playing an essential role in assessing subsurface conditions for safe and sustainable infrastructure design.


The key responsibilities for this Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer role are:

  • Perform physical sampling and testing of Geotechnical sub-strata and materials like steel, concrete, and stone for structural investigations in environments such as rail, highways, and open land.
  • Collate accurate site notes to support the creation of technical reports and interpretive documents.
  • Assist in producing factual ground/structural investigation reports as per the project manager's requirements.
  • Provide technical input to projects and attend team, safety, and technical briefings.
  • Undertake safety-critical duties in line with Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification and your Safety Responsibility Statement.
  • Be available for site visits, including working nights and weekends, with potential lodging away when required.
  • As you gain experience, you will take on more responsibility, with the opportunity to get involved in project management duties under the guidance of the Principal Project Manager.

Experience and skills required for this Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer role are:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology, or Physical Geography.
  • A full, clean driving licence is required.
  • Ability to pass a Personal Track Safety (PTS) Medical, Drugs & Alcohol screening, and related training.
  • Must have a strong ability to learn and take on new skills.
