This is a great opportunity for an Operations Manager looking to step into a new role.
This company is set up into two divisions; their rail depot and fleet business, and the construction side, where they work on various rail depots including M&E, walkways etc.
This company is massively expanding, They are working on various depot redevelopment projects ranging in value up to £3M. However, they have an exciting potential upcoming project which will be valuing at circa £35M.
The main base is Leeds, you will be expected to travel for the needs of the business as the projects are national.
Key responsibilities for this Operations Manager role:
The Operations Manager will be an experienced and passionate people manager with a drive for continuous development and be a strong builder of relationships both internally and externally.
- Ensure the business operates efficiently and remains compliant at all times adhering to rail regulations and standards.
- Lead the operational team in order to control and positively impact agreed operational KPI targets.
- Monitoring and management of employee satisfaction, ensuring any engagement actions are understood and action plans in place.
- Work closely with the Head of Operations and the Operations leadership team to drive consistent ways of working across the department.
- Performing employee relations duties such as recruiting, selecting, coaching and disciplining employees.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with supplies and customers.
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analysing variance and initiating corrective actions.
Experience required for this Operations Manager role:
- Experience within the rail sector.
- Experience in an Operational Management role previously, and can demonstrate strong operational delivery.
- Delivered multiple schemes and strong experience in this area.
- Strong commercial acumen
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to motivate and lead a team of engineers/supervisors/employees
- Experienced in process improvement.
