Job Role: Senior OR Principal Civil / Structural Engineer
Location: Leeds, UK
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 (Dependent on Experience and Qualifications)

About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior OR Principal Engineer for a fantastic opportunity to join a highly reputable and growing design engineering consultancy. This role offers the chance to work in a brand new and modern office.

You will be part of a team contributing to a diverse range of projects across buildings, railway infrastructure, temporary works, bridges, and geotechnics, with project values ranging up to £20 million.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians, providing mentoring, coaching, and training.
  • Take ownership of projects, ensuring high-quality design, delivery, and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct inspections, site surveys, and assessments of structures, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Oversee the design of civil & structural schemes, reviewing designs and performing detailed calculations by hand and through computer models.
  • Advise junior staff and support other team members in finding innovative technical solutions.
  • Prepare and manage project programmes, workload, and resources, working closely with directors.
  • Liaise with clients to verify project scope, ensure deliverables, and address any issues.
  • Prepare tenders and fee proposals, fostering new and existing client relationships.
  • Actively participate in meetings with clients to promote the company's skills and capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of new business opportunities and the growth of the team.

Experience Required:

  • A relevant Civil or Structural Engineering degree.
  • Chartered status or working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE).
  • At least 8+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering or 5+ Years for the Senior Role.
  • Strong technical knowledge in structural assessments, design, calculations, and analysis of both newbuild and existing structures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage resources effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport.
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK, with a high standard of written English.

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications).
