Position: Quantity Surveyor
Rate: £300-£400 per day
Location: Cardiff
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in groundworks and construction to become an integral part of our client's commercial team. Key Responsibilities:
- Visit project sites regularly and maintain close communication with the production team.
- Collaborate with estimators to review and refine tenders, ensuring client requirements are met and opportunities for cost-effective solutions are identified.
- Provide early-stage cost advice on project variations and ensure only authorized changes are executed.
- Review and validate technical drawings, ensuring all necessary documentation is in order for each project.
- Manage the commercial aspects of projects from start to finish, maximizing value while liaising with Finance and Procurement teams.
- Ensure commercial responsibilities are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes.
- Analyse rates and prices, negotiating and agreeing on variations or compensation events as required.
- Assess potential financial risks and work with third parties to resolve outstanding issues through reasonable solutions.
- Produce accurate profit forecasts on a monthly and annual basis, maintaining projections throughout the project.
- Promote and adhere to safety protocols across all sites and projects.
- Coordinate subcontractor work allocations and assist with procurement processes when needed.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor role.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other essential computer applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- A high level of professionalism, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
