Regional HSQE Advisor

The job:

Navartis are working exclusively with a Principal Contractor in the rail sector who are looking to recruit a regional HSQE Advisor for their Scotland team.

This role will involve being on site across various sites in the region - driving all matters in the areas of  health & safety, quality and environmental across the business.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Incident investigation including root cause analysis - examining underlying issues to rectify process and prevent future occurance
  • Prepare relevant documentation for outlining of investigations; conclusions, recommendations for corrective action and using these results to present to management, clients and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other functions in the business - operational management, claims/risk departments and other team members to efficiently drive culture change and efficiency
  • Provision of training and guidance to other employees - covering topics such as accident prevention, reporting procedure and safety protocols.
  • Effectively utilise company data to spearhead a culture of improvement in the business. Making use of site meetings, campaigns and instant alerts to prevent re-occurances in future
  • Manage an effective communication channel into the HSQE department - escalating incidents in accordance with procedure, compiling information for proper reporting and conducting site visits

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Nebosh general certificate is a requirement for the role, membership of Iosh is desireable also
  • Previous experience within rail, specifically working on Network Rail related infrastructure contracts
  • Knowledge of HSQE regulation & best practices - experience in accident investigation 
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to use relevant software tools for data analysis & reporting
  • Excellent communication skills - both written & verbal, to interact with a variety of different parties and present information in a clear and concise manner
