Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor

Rate: Dependent upon experience
Duration: Long term contract
My client is looking for a strong CSA Quantity Surveyor, where you would be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control related to civil, structural, and architectural packages throughout the lifecycle of large-scale data centre projects. You will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, contributing to the overall success of the business and its clients.
They are ideally looking for someone with a background in construction and consultancy and preferably with an EU passport. They are looking for someone to ideally interview before Christmas and to start asap.
Key Responsibilities for this Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor Role:
- Manage all commercial activities related to the CSA packages, including cost reporting, valuations, and payments.
- Ensure accurate cost estimation and budgeting for all civil, structural, and architectural works.
- Prepare and manage project bills of quantities, ensuring compliance with project scope and design specifications.
- Track contract progress and identify risks, delays, and cost variations for CSA elements. Liaise closely with project management, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on project budget and timelines.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare regular reports on the financial status of CSA components, including cost forecasting and financial modelling.
- Manage change orders, variations, and claims in line with project and contractual requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and the review of contracts and subcontracts.
Key Experience for this Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor Role:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, with a focus on CSA packages.
- Proven track record of managing CSA aspects on large-scale data centre or high-tech projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil, structural, and architectural construction methodologies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and financial management skills.
- Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to travel or relocate within Europe as required.
