Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team, specializing in safety case work. In this role, you will support the development, analysis, and management of safety cases, ensuring that all systems and processes meet the required safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain safety cases for complex systems, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses, including hazard identification, fault tree analysis, and event tree analysis.
Support the integration of safety-related systems and develop system-level safety documentation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess and manage system safety, reliability, and performance.
Provide technical guidance and support for safety case development, including the identification of safety requirements and verification strategies.
Review and analyze system designs, identifying potential safety risks and recommending mitigation measures.
Prepare and review safety case reports, technical documents, and compliance submissions to meet regulatory deadlines.
Support the continuous improvement of safety case methodologies, tools, and processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in safety case development, safety assessments, and risk management within complex systems.
Strong knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
Experience with hazard analysis techniques, such as HAZOP, FMEA, or fault tree analysis.
Proficient in safety case software tools and engineering design tools (e.g., SysML, MATLAB, or similar).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Desirable:
Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related field.
Experience in the nuclear, aerospace, or high-reliability industries.
Chartered Engineer status or working towards.
