Position: Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Office based in Telford, Shropshire

The Opportunity:

We are working with a dynamic construction business that works on a variety of projects, from commercial to residential developments. Due to significant expansion, they are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join them. You will play a key role in supporting the commercial team, assisting with cost management and procurement across various projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
  • Supporting the procurement process, including supplier and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Helping to monitor and control project costs to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Preparing reports and documentation for project progress and financial tracking.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Gaining hands-on experience with contract administration and variations.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree (or working towards one) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A proactive and eager-to-learn mindset.
  • Some experience in construction or a similar role (advantageous but not required).
  • Full UK driving license preferred.
