BIM Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator to manage and implement Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for large-scale infrastructure projects such as bridges, roads, railways, and utilities. The BIM Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all project designs and construction documentation are modeled to the highest quality standards, while coordinating with multiple teams to streamline collaboration, communication, and project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • BIM Management & Coordination:

    • Manage and implement BIM standards, protocols, and workflows for infrastructure projects.
    • Coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary models (e.g., structural, civil, mechanical) and ensure data accuracy and consistency across all project phases.
    • Oversee model compliance with established BIM execution plans (BEP) and industry standards such as ISO 19650.
  • Project Design & Documentation:

    • Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure that design intent and project specifications are accurately reflected in the BIM model.
    • Produce 3D models and 2D drawings as needed, ensuring compatibility with construction documentation and detailing.
    • Review, update, and validate BIM models at key project stages, ensuring coordination between various disciplines.
  • Clash Detection & Resolution:

    • Conduct clash detection and coordination meetings using software such as Navisworks, identifying and resolving conflicts in designs before construction.
    • Ensure clashes are communicated and resolved by the appropriate team, reducing construction delays and rework.
  • BIM Execution & Collaboration:

    • Facilitate BIM-related meetings with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment and resolve technical issues.
    • Coordinate model-sharing and data exchange between teams using a Common Data Environment (CDE) such as Autodesk BIM 360, ensuring smooth collaboration across all stakeholders.
    • Ensure that BIM models are updated in real-time as construction progresses, reflecting any design changes or updates.
  • Training & Support:

    • Provide technical support and training to project teams in the use of BIM software and tools, including Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
    • Ensure all staff are following the BIM execution plan and using best practices in model management.
  • Quality Control & Compliance:

    • Ensure that BIM models adhere to project-specific standards, client requirements, and quality control procedures.
    • Conduct regular audits of BIM models to maintain accuracy, quality, and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in BIM coordination, particularly within large infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and other relevant tools.
  • Solid understanding of construction and engineering processes in infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, rail, and utilities.
  • Familiarity with BIM standards and protocols (ISO 19650, PAS 1192) and experience in developing and implementing BIM execution plans (BEP).
