This leading Irish construction company is working across a myriad of sectors including commercial office, pharmaceutical, residential, life sciences, public sector, and leisure. As a result of an expanding portfolio, they are seeking a Design Manager to join their team.
In this Design Manager role, you will be based on a data centre project based in Dublin 11.
Previous background in data centre projects is highly desirable for this Design Manager role.
Key responsibilities for this Design Manager role:
- Taking full responsibility for coordinating designs in project development, including generating designs, creating workshop drawings, and facilitating interdepartmental coordination.
- Ensuring technical proficiency remains high across various projects and opportunities, from initial stages to detailed execution.
- Directing and guiding design processes during the pre-construction phase while maintaining open communication with clients and the design team.
- Conducting comprehensive audits of designs to identify inconsistencies, discrepancies, and missing details, documenting, reporting, and tracking these findings.
- Supervising the creation and management of the design schedule and providing regular progress reports.
- Regularly evaluating design progress with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Overseeing the creation and approval process of samples, prototypes, and quality standards.
Key requirements for this Design Manager role:
- Ideally 5 years of experience in a comparable position within the construction industry is required.
- Previous experience in data centre projects highly desired
- 3rd level degree in the relevant area
- Familiarity with up-to-date building regulations and health & safety legislation is essential.
- Demonstrated passion for design, dedication to excellence, and a proactive approach to personal and team development are key.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the capacity to maintain focus are necessary.
- Superior organizational abilities, including effective prioritization, timely delivery of tasks, and adept delegation, are essential.
Package offered for this Design Manager role:
- Starting salary ranging from €65,000 - €75,000, depending on experience
- 21 days annual leave
