The ideal candidate will have a solid background in health and safety management, with the ability to work autonomously and ensure full compliance with safety regulations on-site. Experience with Hammertech software is highly desirable, as it would support efficient safety management and reporting. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact while advancing your career in a safety-critical role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain the company’s Environmental Health and Safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to management, safety representatives, and employees, including sub-contractors where applicable.
  • Ensure adherence to all Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions and legislation.
  • Promote and enforce best practices in safety management across the site.
  • Lead Health & Safety training initiatives, including site inductions for new employees and sub-contractors.
  • Oversee the creation and review of task-specific EHS documents, such as method statements, risk assessments, safe work plans, and work permits.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, reporting findings to both site and senior management, with a focus on immediate follow-up action.
  • Ensure that all incidents are reported, thoroughly investigated, and that lessons learned are communicated effectively. Ensure notifications are made to the Directors, Health & Safety Authority, and insurers as required.
  • Manage and record safety interventions, proactively addressing project EHS needs.
  • Perform administrative tasks to maintain EHS Management systems, including the upkeep of registers, records, and monthly reports, and presenting updates to management as needed.
  • Assist site management in drafting and communicating EHS initiatives and leading Toolbox Talks.
  • Gather and prepare relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File for handover to the client upon project completion.
  • Foster a workplace culture focused on health, safety, and incident prevention.

Requirements:

  • A relevant third-level qualification in Environmental, Health, and Safety.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working on large-scale projects.
  • A full, clean driving license.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships and manage stakeholder interactions effectively.

Package:

  • Competitive salary ranging from €55K to €70K (negotiable based on experience).
