Mechanical Design Engineer
I am interested in speaking with a Mechanical Design Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity in the Northwest of England.
Key responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer role:
- Prepare 3D models in Autodesk Inventor to meet project demand, as necessary
- Produce 2D drawings from 3D models for customer review / approval
- Ensure self-prepared drawings/ models/ documents are correct and concise prior to release into SQEP Design checker
- Eliminate H&S risks from designs in accordance with CDM regulations
- Produce designs that comply with product assurance limitations, and that fully consider all stages of the product lifecycle
- Contribute to R&D activities as required and discuss innovative design solutions for bespoke works with peers and superiors.
Requirements for this Mechanical Design Engineer role:
- Evidence knowledge of BS 8888
- Previous experience with Autodesk 3D Inventor, Auto CAD and Autodesk Vault
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or HND plus 5 years’ experience in industrial sheet / steel fabrications
- Understanding of steel manufacturing techniques and limitations
- Understanding of load paths, failure modes and operating limits of steel structures / components
- Ability to compile coherent Designers Risk Assessments
- SC Clearence or ability to obtain
Package offered for Mechanical Design Engineer role:
- Outside IR35
- £35-£41 per hour
- 4-day week – 10 hours per day Mon-Thurs
- 6-month minimum contract
