Job Title: Project Manager- Tunnelling/Business Development (m/f/d)

The Project Business unit focuses on major infrastructure works including tunnels, roads, bridges, and specialised engineering buildings. We have a strong track record, supplying major projects such as large-scale Norwegian tunnel projects, and Stuttgart 21. Our target markets for growth include Central Europe, Eastern Europe, the former CIS region, and MENA.
The Opportunity:
Due to the upcoming retirement of one of the team, we are seeking an ambitious and experienced Tunnelling Engineer to take ownership and drive growth tunnelling segment. This is a key role offering the chance to step into a significant position, leveraging your site experience in a more strategically focused role with extensive international exposure. You will join a dedicated team, including specialists focused on international tunnelling works.
Location:
Ideally based in the vicinity of Hannover, but any location in Germany is possible.
However, we recognise the challenges of relocation and are open to discussing remote working arrangements within Germany for the right candidate.
Requires national and international travel estimated at 30% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage relationships with key clients, consultants, and stakeholders within the international tunnelling sector across our target markets (Central/Eastern Europe, former CIS, MENA).
Identify, pursue, and secure new tunnelling projects, promoting our specialised concrete admixture solutions.
Provide expert technical consultation and support for tunnelling applications (Shotcrete, TBM).
Act as a convincing technical and commercial representative of the company.
Collaborate effectively with the internal international tunnelling team and other business units.
Contribute to sales strategy, forecasting, and reporting for the tunnelling segment.
Guide and motivate team members involved in tunnelling projects.
Travel to meet clients, visit project sites, attend industry events, and liaise with internal teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience specifically within the tunnelling industry. Practical experience in project execution or site supervision roles is highly advantageous. Proven experience with both shotcrete and TBM applications is essential.
Education: An academic background in Construction Engineering or a related field is favourable.
Network: Possesses a good existing network within the German and International tunnelling community.
Skills:
Strong technical understanding of tunnelling processes. Experience with concrete technology/admixtures would be beneficial.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills - able to "talk the talk" and build strong relationships.
Proven ability to convince and influence technical and commercial stakeholders.
Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken) is essential.
Demonstrated ability to guide and motivate colleagues or team members.
