Associate Ecologist 

Location: Location is flexible - South is ideal within 3 hours of Wokingham

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 basic salary plus company car allowance of £350/mth car allowance scheme and package including:

Summary

The UK's most trusted environmental services partner at the forefront of Britain's water, energy, and environmental infrastructure management is looking for an established Ecologist with good commercial/business skills to lead and help deliver their Ecology consultancy goals.

This is a great opportunity to step up to a leadership position, where you will part of it whilst expanding your skills into commercial activity to deliver against key targets for growth.

The postholder will form part of the Water & Ecology leadership team and will support commercial activity to deliver against key targets for commercial growth.

Key tasks and responsibilities

-Lead a team of ecologists to deliver a field survey & reporting service
-Provide ecological technical expertise in support of field delivery teams
-Prepare and review technical reports
-Lead on tenders and bid work
-Ensure excellent standards of customer service and technical excellence
-Perform key client account holder role
-Support the delivery of the Water&Ecology Department growth plan through sales and marketing activities
-Help ensure that the Water & Ecology divisional KPI's are met
-Monitor and identify training requirements and plan / implement training efficiently
-Any other task for which the postholder is capable of undertaking and requested by line or senior management.

Knowledge & experience

Previous knowledge & experience gained within the ecology and environmental sectors is essential
-Educated to degree level in a Biological or Environmental Sciences discipline and experience of providing ecology consultancy services
-Comprehensive technical knowledge and capability in aspects of hydro-ecology would be desirable
-Experienced at writing & reviewing technical reports
-Experienced at preparing tender submissions
-A full, clean, UK driving licence
-Excellent organisational and time-management skills

Hours of work

Weekly contractual hours are 35 per week, with daily hours being 9am until 5pm, five days per week 1 hour paid lunch break each day. Overtime is available and due to the nature of the duties of this post will be required to occasionally stay away from home overnight.
