Commercial Manager – Residential Construction

Location: Southampton (with projects across the UK)
Salary: Up to £80,000 + Benefits

The Role

This position is ideal for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS) or Managing QS seeking to progress into a Commercial Manager role. You’ll take ownership of commercial operations for projects in Southampton and across the UK, while building and leading your own team as the company continues to grow.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Oversee and manage budgets, contracts, and procurement for residential construction projects.
    • Provide strategic leadership while working closely with a supportive Managing Director.
    • Drive the growth of the company’s commercial team, with autonomy to shape and scale the function.
    • Manage financial forecasting, cost control, and risk assessments across projects.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a proven track record in residential construction, ideally with experience in a main contractor environment.
  • Brings expertise in contract negotiation, cost management, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Has worked as a Senior QS or Managing QS and is ready to take on a leadership role.
  • Is ambitious, proactive, and excited to contribute to both local Southampton projects and developments across the UK.
