Our Client is a leading engineering consultant with a proven track record in delivering high-quality life science, medical, and commerial projects who are committed to excellence in construction and sustainability, ensuring the safety and well-being of their employees, stakeholders, and the environment.

We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Advisor to join their team for an upcoming Life Science Project in Kilkenny. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an EHS compliance plan for the project in accordance with local, federal, and international regulations.
  • Ensure that Site EHS Plans, RAMS, and other associated site documents are updated and compliant with statutory and other requirements, and that they are reviewed on a continuous basis.
  • Provide guidance to the project team on all EHS aspects of the project, including site selection, construction, installation, and operation.
  • Identify and mitigate potential EHS risks associated with the project.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • Develop and implement training programs and procedures to increase awareness of EHS regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct EHS audits to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to identify the root cause and develop corrective actions.
  • Facilitate communication between external stakeholders and the project team.
  • Development and management of risk assessments & method statements.

Requirements:

  • Degree in environmental science, safety science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in an EHS environment, ideally with experience on large life science or commercial projects.
  • Full EU License and full working rights within the EU.
  • Expert knowledge of local and environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Experience with EHS audits, inspections, and compliance programs.
  • Proficient with MS Office and other applications.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary range: €55,000-€70,000 per annum, depending on experience (DOE).
