Enabling Works Supervisor

As a Enabling Works Supervisor you will play a key role in supporting the Project Manager and the management team to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of works across the contract. This role involves overseeing enabling works such as de-vegetation, cladding removal, fence dismantling and other site clearance activities. You will need to consider environmental factors that may impact the work and engage with key stakeholders and internal teams.
This role is site/home based with travel to different sites across Yorkshire, the Midlands and Hertfordshire being essential.
The key responsibilities for this Enabling Works Supervisor role are:
- Responsible for conducting site assessments as directed, in line with contract and site specifications, prior to examination and inspection works.
- Conduct site assessments through scoping and prepare task briefing sheets to outline work methodologies and safety measures.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and third-party landowners to plan and ensure safe, efficient operations.
- Perform on-site audits in compliance with the project's Health & Safety plan.
- Effectively manage workload and promptly escalate any issues to the Project Manager.
- Monitor and challenge unsafe practices, ensuring safety protocols are always adhered to.
- Produce site-specific documentation, including Task Briefing Sheets (TBS) and Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMs).
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including the Canals and Rivers Trust and Traffic Management Contractors, to arrange necessary access.
- Ensure all work is performed according to agreed technical and quality standards.
- Brief staff and subcontractors on technical aspects, safety systems, and deliverables.
- Oversee multi-disciplinary activities on-site to ensure smooth execution of tasks.
- Offer flexible solutions and support field teams with decision-making as challenges arise.
Experience, skills and qualifications required for this Enabling Works Supervisor role are:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- IOSH/SSSTS (or similar qualification)
- First Aid certification
- Basic IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
Desirable knowledge, skills & experience for this Enabling Works Supervisor role are:
- PTS, COSS, or IWA qualifications
- NPTC Chainsaw, Brush Cutter, Hedge Cutter, or similar certification
- Experience in vegetation management
