Head of HSQE - Civils and Buildings
Location: Hertfordshire with hybrid working & travel in the South of England
Salary / Package: Circa £90,000 - £100,000 negotiable dependant on experience plus competitive package
Summary
A multidisciplinary tier 1 contractor offering a range and depth of civil engineering, infrastructure and building services is looking to hire a Head of HSQE to join and manage their Civils and Building divisions, with a portfolio of 30 projects, ranging in value from £500k to £150m.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing HSEQS policies, strategy, and objectives for the business and will work in close collaboration with divisional HSEQS staff and the Director of HSEQS to deliver and update complicate legislative, corporate, and other requirements.
This will be managing a variety of projects in aviation, highways, earthworks and building sectors so expertise in these areas is key.
Candidate requirements
- Extencive background of health & safety, environmental & quality management in construction / civils in a similar role.
- Ideally worked for a main contractor
- Hold relevant technical qualifications (e.g. Diploma, NEBOSH) and memberships (e.g. IOSH, IEMA, CQI)
- Be a chartered member of IOSH (CMIOSH)
- Experience in the building, civil engineering, highways and rail sectors.
- Experience in the application of management systems across multiple operating companies.
- A qualified 9001, 14001 and 18001 Lead Auditor.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability and self-confidence to build strong working relationships internally and externally at all levels.
- Good presentation, written, analytical and IT skills
- Demonstrable achievement in a senior role.
- Leadership skills to promote and drive improvement in the HSEQS performance, systems and processes.
