We are looking for an Intermedidate Quantity Surveyor to join our client who is a leading contractor for Ireland's growing markets for residential, commercial, mixed-use, and regulated environments, including healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
You will be reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and responsible for commercial aspects of projects across various sectors and sites; commercial, residential, hospitality, education, and industrial.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of project cost reports.
- Consistently review and update risk registers, variation tracker sheets, and extension of time tracker sheets, including these in monthly reports.
- Attend monthly management meetings to present and discuss project performance.
- Liaise with subcontractors, evaluating records and revising templates such as appointment records and payment certifications.
- Examine accounts and requisitions from suppliers to ensure accuracy.
- Measure, price, negotiate, and agree on costs for changes to the project scope, ensuring budgets and expenses are in line with project goals.
- Maintain strong commercial relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors, handling contractual obligations effectively.
- Provide mentorship to junior surveyors, assisting in their development and growth.
- Actively identify opportunities to increase income, reduce costs, and mitigate project losses.
Qualifications/Experience
- Degree qualified with at least 3 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the residential or retail/commercial sectors in Ireland or the UK.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office and databases.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate with all project stakeholders.
- Full eligibility to work in Ireland and a valid driving license are required.
