Location: Derbyshire

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000

Summary

A HSQE management consultancy and training organisation based in the East Midlands, delivering specialist services and supporting businesses throughout the UK is looking for an experienced operational safety management professional to join the business and take over the role of Managing Director in the business or work under the current managing director and train in to the role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall success of the business, including setting the strategic direction, driving business growth, and leading the team to provide expertise in HSQE consulting services. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the HSQE field.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

- Developing and implementing the company's vision, mission, and long-term goals.
- Setting the strategic direction of the consultancy, including market analysis, identifying growth opportunities, and developing new services.
- Ensuring the company's policies, procedures, and strategies are aligned with the HSQE field and industry standards.

Business Growth:

- Driving business development, securing new clients, and expanding the consultancy's market presence.
- Developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Team Leadership:

- Leading and motivating the HSQE consultancy team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Developing and mentoring team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
- Managing and optimizing the consultancy's internal operations.

HSQE Expertise:

- Ensuring the consultancy provides expert advice and support in HSQE matters to clients.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest HSQE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Promoting a positive safety culture within the consultancy and its client organizations.

Financial Management:

- Monitoring the consultancy's financial performance and ensuring profitability.
- Managing the company's budget and resources effectively.
- Implementing financial controls and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

Leadership and Management:

- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Experience of running a business in the past (Desirable)

HSQE Expertise:

- A deep understanding of HSQE principles, regulations, and industry standards is crucial.

Business Development:

- Proven experience in business development, sales, and marketing is highly valued.

Communication:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for interacting with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Industry Knowledge:

- Experience in the HSQE field, particularly within the consultancy sector, is beneficial.
- wealth of experience and knowledge in a range of business functions relevant to the Rail industry

Qualifications:

- A relevant degree in HSQE or a related field, along with professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH would be highly desirable

- Management qualifications
