Managing Quantity Surveyor 

Location: London (NW)

Salary / Package: Circa £67,000 - £70,000 per annum, negotiable dependant on experience plus package including;

- Car / Allowance / Travel Allowance
- Subsistance paid to candidates willing to lodge away

Summary

One of the UK's largest infrastructure contractors are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Managing Quantity Surveyor to join the joint venture responsible for the construction and delivery of HS2's Old Oak Common station in North West London. The circa £1bn project will include the delivery of six underground platforms as well as up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line.

Duties

Estimating:

- To support the review tenders & cost data.
- To support the preparation of the Revised Forecast for a Project

Project Management:

- Manage the preparation of the monthly CVR and associated commercial reports.
- To be able to report and explain the commercial progress to senior divisional staff
- With other members of the team, produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value
- Continually monitor projected costs to completion in line with budget
- Ensure that necessary interface information between customer, sub-contractors and other departments is provided in a timely manner
- Monitor cash flow and valuation plan, ensuring applications are made correctly and in a timely manner

Procurement:

- Advise on alternative forms of contract & procurement arrangements.

Commercial Management:

- Awareness of disputes resolution including options, structure as well as knowledge of the SCL Protocol
- Application of legislation and ability to liaise with legal experts
- Management and reporting of Commercial Risk and Opportunity
- Management of disallowed cost

Person Specification

- NEC Experience Essential
- Valid CSCS card are required
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
- Contractor background
- Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB
- Eligibility to work and live permanently in the UK
