This role is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company with an exciting future on it's horizon - providing an extensive range of equipment to their clients, designed to meet specific needs of many rail operators.
It will see you reporting into the engineering manager, the ideal candidate will be a focused team player to help grow the current portfolio and innovation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Compilation of technical files and calculations - including appropriate documentation to ensure compliance and standards are met
- Write technical specifications to meet supplier expectations
- Manage delivery of projects from concept to install - with the assistance of internal multi-disciplinary teams
- Prepare bills of materials, drawings, work instructions & maintenance manuals for designed equipment
- Develop innovative solutions for bespoke equipment - to be applicable in workshops and rail depots alike
- Travel to client sites for meetings, surveys, installation and testing
The Ideal candidate:
- A degree qualification in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent NVQ
- Experience in the design of machinery involved with heavy mechanical engineering
- knowledgeable in Solidworks 3D - specifically relating to FEA and PDM
- Sound knowledge of engineering compliance/risk management
- Strong communication skills in both written and verbal formats - ability to interact with internal and external parties
- Experience within fabrication design would be desireable

- Competitve salary (up to £55k depending on experience)#
