The organization is currently seeking a highly experienced Mining Site Manager to oversee a shaft sinking project in Gorleben, Germany. This is a unique opportunity to manage a high-profile project from the ground up.
Position Overview:
The Mining Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the mine shaft sinking project, ensuring that all work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee site activities, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will have experience with shaft sinking projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the mine shaft sinking project, including planning, execution, and supervision of site operations.
- Lead and coordinate a team of engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project delivery to the highest standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance on-site.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Oversee shaft sinking activities, ensuring high-quality work is carried out at every stage.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational challenges as they arise.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including reports, risk assessments, and progress updates.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure smooth communication and successful project outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- C1 level of German language
- Ground freezing experience is preffered but not essential
- A degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in mining operations, with a focus on shaft sinking and underground construction projects.
- Proven leadership experience, ideally in a site management role within a mining or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of mining techniques, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- A proactive, results-driven attitude with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
