Planning Engineer | Belfast

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Planner to join a UK-based civil engineering and infrastructure services provider specializes in the construction and maintenance of telecommunications, utility, and highway infrastructures.

The company is committed to engineering excellence, assisting clients in expanding and managing their infrastructure footprints who offers a range of services, including planning, design, surveying, overhead fibre management, emergency restoration solutions, educational fibre network solutions, alternative networks, central shared services functions, traffic management, and innovations.

The project in Belfast is a significant £35m new-build development focusing on innovation and cutting-edge design. It’s an active site, currently about a third of the way through completion. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop methodologies to effectively control and forecast project timelines and resource requirements.
  • Apply best practices in project planning, processes, and procedures from the tender stage through to completion.
  • Produce clear and concise progress reports.
  • Accurately forecast project timescales and resource needs, including labour, equipment, and materials.
  • Support all design, management, and construction planning functions, ensuring programme issues are anticipated, communicated, and addressed.
  • Hold relevant construction qualifications, with HND or Degree-level qualifications preferred.
  • Experience with construction sites and familiarity with construction drawings and documents is desirable.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in IT tools, such as Asta Powerprojects or MS Project (preferred but not essential).
  • Possess a full, valid driving license.

Salary for this Site Engineer role is between £55,000 – £65,000 DOE

(Negotiable dependent upon experience), bonus scheme, plus further additional benefits
