The job:
Navartis are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager for a specialist Contractor operating in the UK. This main focus of this role will be to manage contracts with a perticular focus on safety, quality and productivity by ensuring contracts perform in line with budgets and maintain an effective and concious workforce.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring safe working practice of site operations, including implementation of procedures to remove site/safety hazards
- Liaise with estimators and review tenders - optimising solutions and assist in delivering efficient methodology
- Develop relationships with clients - fully understanding requirements, act as a key point of contact to drive future business
- Undertake efficient management of operatives to maximise productivity - including sub contractors
- Manage employee relations and practices related to training, abscence, discipline and continuous development
- Ensure all costings for site are managed properly - production of interim/final applications for payment in accordance with deadlines
- Manage instrumentation packages, read technical specifications ensuring they meet requirements
The ideal candidate:
- Previous experience within the civil engineering, geotechnical or build contracts environment
- Degree education in a related field such as civil engineering or geology would be desireable
- Prior exposure to managing teams of various sizes and disciplines
- Proof of valid CSCS card is a requirement
- Previous commercial exposure would be highly beneficial to this role
- Strong communication skills across a variety of formats, to deal with various contacts both internal and external
