Summary

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor has opened up to join a world leading geotechnical contractor and work on an HS2 construction project, based in Warwickshire

The company specialise in all aspects of modern geotechnics and foundation engineering, including bored and displacement piling, diaphragm walls, ground improvements and environmental engineering amongst much more.

They are an approved Network Rail sub-contractor, appointed to deliver key infrastructure elements within the overarching HS2 project.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be expected to support the senior members of the commercial team in delivering varied commercial duties as well as being responsible for procuring and managing the supply chain.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Measure, record and value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures.
- Orders information and systematically checks data.
- Build up estimates from first principle including net and gross estimates.
- Translate measurement from drawings and specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates Planning.
- Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works.
- Plan commercial activities to meet requirements of section programmes.
- Have an understanding of delay and disruption programmes.
- Collation of Cost and Value information.
- Preparation of Cost reconciliation statements.
- Undertakes customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility.
- Measurement of works and agreements with subcontractors.

Who are we looking for?

- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent.
- Member of/working towards professional membership from the RICS, ICES or CIOB would be beneficial.
- An excellent communicator.
- A team player. Someone who is willing to support the development of others.
- Achievement focussed.
- Previous relevant commercial experience.
- Requisite industry knowledge: piling/civils/rail preferable.

 

Salary: £40,000 - £53,000 plus car allowance and package
