Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior EHS Advisor to spearhead Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives on significant construction projects throughout the Longford area. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our sites comply with both Irish and European environmental regulations and safety standards, thereby enhancing our reputation as a leader in responsible construction practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all EHS operations on site, ensuring compliance with local and European legislation.
  • Implement and maintain robust safety management systems tailored to specific project needs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and teams to identify potential risks and develop effective risk control strategies.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance and identify improvement areas.
  • Deliver comprehensive safety reports and documentation, ensuring all records are up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops for staff to promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including local authorities and community groups, to communicate our EHS commitments and achievements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in the construction or engineering sector, with a proven track record on major projects.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with experience leading teams and influencing positive safety culture.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish and European EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent EHS certifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective EHS strategies that drive continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in renewable energy projects or large-scale infrastructure developments is a distinct advantage.
  • Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and sustainability reporting frameworks.
  • Proficiency in EHS management software and data analysis tools.
