One of Ireland’s top 10 main contractors are on the lookout for a Senior Project Engineer for their current and upcoming pharma projects based in Cork.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable contractor on a high-profile project. In this role, you will be based on site near Carrigtwohill and will be working closely with senior members of management and will be responsible for all on-site setting out engineering works, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest quality standards, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with necessary safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities for this Senior Project Engineer role

  • Assist in managing and executing projects from initiation to closeout throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Report to the Projects Programme Manager and support a diverse portfolio of strategic projects, with the ability to independently manage small projects as needed by the business.
  • Ensure project execution focuses on safety, schedule, and budget adherence, complying with engineering best practices, company policies, regulations, and codes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in delivering complex Manufacturing Facility and Processing projects within a highly automated GMP Production environment.
  • Oversee the financial performance of engineering projects, including cash flow, life cycle costs, business opportunities, and risks.
  • Manage contractors and vendors, develop and oversee project schedules.
  • Implement risk management strategies and action plans to mitigate risks.
  • Adhere strictly to safe working practices as outlined in the safety statement and company safety rules.
  • Monitor and control the safe working practices of contractors while on site.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety requirements in a Pharmaceutical Plant.

Key Requirements for this Senior Project Engineer role

  • A relevant level eight qualification in the field of civil, structural, mechanical or electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience working with infrastructural projects.
  • Ideally experienced in working on mechanical/electrical systems projects and in the management of the operation and maintenance of infrastructure facilities.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Full driving license.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland
