Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Hybrid (3 days in Hatfield office, 2 days from home)
Sector: Rail Projects (M&E, Signalling, Civils)
Rate: £425 per day (Outside IR35)
Duration: 2 years+

About Us:
My client are a leading consultancy firm specializing in rail projects across the UK. Due to a significant increase in workload, they are expanding their team and are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their workforce.

Role Overview:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of their rail projects, including mechanical and electrical (M&E), signalling, and civil engineering works. You will work closely with their project teams to ensure the successful delivery of pre and post-contract activities, adhering to the NEC3/4 or bespoke contract framework.

Key Responsibilities for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role:

- Conducting cost analysis, planning, and control of project finances
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
- Managing and forecasting project budgets
- Performing risk and value management and cost control
- Negotiating and procuring subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensuring compliance with contract conditions and company policies
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring efficient resource allocation
- Providing advice on contractual claims and disputes

Requirements:

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial roles
- Extensive experience with NEC3 contracts
- Proficient in both pre-contract and post-contract works
- Multi-disciplined experience, particularly in M&E, signalling, and civils
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
