Senior Quantity Surveyor | Mullingar

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable developer on an upcoming residential development project in Mullingar. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential projects across Ireland. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for the project.
  •  Monitor and control project costs to ensure adherence to budgets.
  •  Conduct cost analysis and produce cost reports.
  • Prepare and manage contracts, including tender documentation and procurement processes.
  • Assess and manage variations and claims.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Prepare regular financial reports, including cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete assessments.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information to project stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to the project’s financial performance.
  • Implement risk management strategies and contingency plans.
  • Work closely with project managers, site managers, and other team members to ensure project success.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant standards, regulations, and specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain quality control.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all project-related financial transactions and documentation.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management and clients.
 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in social housing development projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools such as MS Office, CostX, or similar.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, SCSI) is an advantage.

Salary:

  • €80,000 (negotiable depending on experience), bonus scheme, plus additional benefits.
