Job Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Coventry
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (Plus Car Allowance)
Navartis Recruitment are supporting a long-term partner within the Rail / Civil Engineering sector as they look to recruit a self-motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor. This project will give you a huge amount of autonomy with little input on the direction you chose to take. This £13Million project will have unique challenges to overcome and have a striking effect on the environment It sits within
You will be reporting into a Senior Commercial Manager with 5 Apprentices/Grads reporting into you, this will suite a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is confident in their processes and can work in a methodical manner.
The key requirements for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Price and agree project Compensation Events under the NEC3 contract.
- Use of Microsoft Excel to interpret and present complex data sets.
- Administer contract and subcontract conditions, ensuring timely contractual notices.
- Assist in accurate and robust record-keeping to protect entitlements.
- Procure and manage supply chain orders, ensuring scope and timely payment notices.
- Support the Commercial Lead with monthly CVR reports and projections.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and procurement strategies.
- Be ambitious in your approach always striving for excellence.
- Undertake additional commercial duties as required by the line manager.
Experience required for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience applying contract law terminology.
- Able to produce CVR’s as and when required.
- Experience working on £10Million plus projects.
- Experience working with NEC3 or NEC4 Option C is desired
- Experience working with NEC3 or NEC4 Options A, B, D, E is also beneficial.
- Demonstrable experience running projects solo and delivering.
- Experience being the Senior Quantity Surveyor on large Civils Projects (preferred with Main Contractor)
Desirable knowledge, skills & experience for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Use of Contract Management software such as CEMAR
- Incredible attention to detail
- Ambitious individual looking to progress their career forward.
- Strong negotiation skills with internal and external teams.
- Highly numerate with strong excel skills and capable of understanding and using formulas
