Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location : Birmingham
Rate: £400 a day outside IR35
Duration: Long term contract
Essential Experience: High-quality residential experience
This role will work alongside the Regional Commercial Manager working on a high-rise residential project in Birmingham. The role is site based and will provide commercial support to the project teams on all projects for which they are responsible ensuring they are administered effectively and that the business objectives in terms of appropriate commercial targets and customer focus are achieved.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor working for a Contractor. Familiarity with JCT/NEC/ICE forms of contract and knowledge of current Construction Law together with experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations and a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
Key Responsibilities for this Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor Role:
- Prepare and manage project bills of quantities, ensuring compliance with project scope and design specifications.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Manage change orders, variations, and claims in line with project and contractual requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and the review of contracts and subcontracts.
Key Experience for this Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor Role:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a Main Contractor.
- Familiarity with JCT/NEC/ forms of contract.
- Knowledge of current Construction Law.
- Experience in commercial management.
- Experience in procurement of subcontractors, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations.
- Good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
