About the Role
This Senior Sustainability Engineer role offers a unique chance to take ownership of sustainability projects while leading a small team and contributing to the company's long-term sustainability strategy. Key responsibilities include:
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of two junior engineers, ensuring smooth project delivery and team growth.
BREEAM Assessments: Serve as the lead BREEAM Assessor, conducting thorough assessments and ensuring projects meet or exceed certification requirements.
Energy Monitoring Solutions: Implement and develop energy monitoring strategies to optimize efficiency and sustainability in projects.
Technical Reporting: Produce detailed energy and sustainability reports, providing high-value insights and actionable recommendations.
Collaboration: Engage with clients, designers, and other key stakeholders to deliver seamless, sustainability-aligned project solutions.
Strategic Growth: Lay the groundwork for progression into a Sustainability Director role, shaping the company's vision for sustainability.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be technically proficient, a natural leader, and passionate about sustainability in the built environment.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
Experience: At least 5-6 years in sustainability roles, ideally with BREEAM experience.
Qualifications: Must be a qualified BREEAM Assessor; Accredited Professional (AP) status is highly desirable.
Technical Expertise: Strong skills in producing energy reports, conducting building assessments, and implementing energy monitoring solutions.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop a team, delivering projects on time and to the highest standard.
Sector Knowledge: Experience in healthcare projects is advantageous but not essential.
Interpersonal Skills: Confidence in collaborating with various stakeholders, including clients, design teams, and contractors.
Working Pattern: Hybrid working model with two days remote per week. Choose to work from the Northampton or Portsmouth office.
