Site Safety Officer | Cork

Job Description

We are currently seeking an EHS Advisor to join our clients team on a commercial construction project in Cork. In this crucial role, you will focus on ensuring all site activities comply with the highest safety and environmental standards. Your expertise will play a key part in fostering a proactive safety culture, minimizing risks, and ensuring adherence to relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implement, monitor, and enforce safety measures and protocols to mitigate on-site risks.
  • Manage safety documentation, including incident reports, safety plans, and compliance records.
  • Promote a safety culture across the site through training sessions, workshops, and daily briefings.
  • Collaborate with project managers and teams to identify potential hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed of industry best practices and regulatory changes to continuously improve EHS practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Site Safety Officer in a commercial construction setting (experience with Hammertech is beneficial, but not essential).
  • Solid experience in safety practices and regulations specific to commercial construction projects (Pharma experience is not necessary).
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail for managing documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing site personnel at all levels.
  • Proficiency in EHS management software and reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent EHS qualifications.
  • Experience with ISO standards related to environmental management and safety.
  • A background in delivering training programs focused on safety and environmental awareness.
