Solution Architect
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Solution Architect to join a well-established multi-utilities company to support across multi-sector projects as part of a growing ‘business-facing’ Technical Team and facilitate the Design, and implementation of Technical Architecture with consideration to various Security Frameworks.
Your role as Solution Architect will give you the opportunity to use your Network, and IT and OT capabilities in the Delivery Phase of multiple multi-million-pound Technical and Cloud Migration projects.
Key responsibilities for this Solution Architect role:
- The Solution Architect operates in a delivery phase of project, taking conceptual architectures from the Enterprise Architect and produces logical designs to be built, making sure the strategy is followed. At this level, you will:
- Network and communicate with senior stakeholders across supplier and customer organisations and proactively seek out opportunities for digital transformation.
- Maintains standards and principles as part of the architectural governance framework Partners in business processes and technology solutions, highlighting opportunities to improve business performance
- Proactively proposes value recommendation to business, facilitates value creation with innovation team.
- Estimates technology costs for solution options and provides guidance on optioneering
- Coordinate multiple teams, finding and using best practice and emerging technologies.
- Inspire other architects and help them understand how to deliver the goals of the organisation.
- Be responsible for adhering to governance frameworks, solving complex and high-risk issues or delivering architecture designs.
- Identify existing patterns for reuse, new patterns to add to the approved design framework and where novel, bespoke designs are appropriate.
- Ensure cyber security and other policies are followed.
- Delivering designs that are traceable and meet the project requirements.
Requirements for this Solution Architect role:
Must haves:
- Experience of designing and independently assuring the completeness of solutions to meet principles, policies and guidelines.
- Have an experienced understanding of Architecture frameworks (e.g. GDS, TOGAF, NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISF Standard, SABSA) .
- Industry experience with an understanding of both IT and OT requirements and solutions, and the relevant UK standards and regulations.
- Security legislation and regulatory frameworks (e.g. DPA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, UK Gov Good Practice Guides).
- Detailed awareness of security methodologies and industry standards (e.g. ISO27001, NIST, SANS).
Desirables:
- TOGAF
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
- Microsoft Azure Advance
- CISSP certified, or equivalent certification, NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISF Standard),
- GIAC or CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent).
Package offered for this Solution Architect role:
- 6 - month initial contract (likely to extend)
- Day rate £600 – £720
- Remote working
- Immediate start
- Outside IR35 - Subject to Assessment
