Summary
Navartis are currently working with a specialist engineering business in the rail sector to recruit a Technical Project Engineer on an initial 6 month basis.
Based in the Nottingham area, this role will see you working under the Lead Technical Engineer to support the internal production process as well as providing technical improvement advice. Elements of administrative control including document support control, as well as creation of procedures and notes for modifications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Production of BoMs (bills of materials), specifications and other relevant engineering documentation – ensuring all are produced in accordance with deadlines and to the correct standard
- Interpreting samples and data to create proper repair/maintenance procedures
- Conduct reverse engineering activities – utilising engineering knowledge to identify problems and create appropriate solutions
- Interact with customers for support on the engineering requirements
- Propose technical and engineering improvements for the business
- Collaborate with internal functions such as quality, workshop teams and sales to address any challenges and provide correct technical input
- Additional ad-hoc duties where required
The ideal candidate:
- Background in mechanical engineering (ideally with pneumatic/electro-pneumatic experience)
- Ability to produce and interpret technical drawings, with high attention to detail
- Enthusiastic work approach – willing to take on new areas/tasks when they arise
- Experience in using CAD software (knowledge with Inventor being highly desirable)
- Provision of commercially/technically viable solutions to meet customer needs
