Water/Wastewater Engineer

Our client is a leading provider of engineering solutions specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure projects. They are located in the Greater Toronto Area and are seeking a skilled Water/Wastewater Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil or environmental engineering with specific expertise in water supply, treatment, distribution, wastewater collection, and treatment systems. You will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the implementation of water and wastewater projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage water supply and distribution systems, including pumping stations, pipelines, and storage facilities.
  • Develop wastewater collection and treatment systems, incorporating advanced treatment technologies where applicable.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and engineering evaluations to support project planning and development.
  • Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water and wastewater projects.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, water quality analysis, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Provide technical support during construction, conducting site visits and addressing any design-related issues that may arise.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements related to water and wastewater engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PEO) license preferred.
  • Proven experience in the design and implementation of water and wastewater projects.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, and/or wastewater modeling software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and environmental standards related to water and wastewater systems.
