Job Title: Assurance Engineer
Location: Greater Manchester

We have a great opportunity for an Assurance Engineer to join a multi-utility manufacturing company based in Greater Manchester on a permanent basis.

Your role as an Assurance Engineer is to carry out all aspects of product governance when relating to destructive and non-destructive testing for the company. You will have the opportunity to control all the testing requirements through the business and forge relationships with key stakeholders in UKAS certified test houses.

Previous experience as a Fire Engineer or a Commissioning Engineer would be advantageous for this position.

Key Responsibilities for this Assurance Engineer role

  • Oversee all destructive and non-destructive testing activities
  • Develop testing strategies, liaise with test houses for quotes, schedules, and installation, and attend domestic and international tests to report findings and propose corrective actions.
  • Approve final test products (FAT), ensuring compliance with test standards and maintaining test reports and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on product viability, NPD opportunities, and business case development, while reviewing tenders for assurance compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 procedures
  • Maintain alignment with company values, and meet project timelines and departmental objectives,
  • Completing administrative tasks such as timesheets and holiday requests.
  • Keep up to date with technological advancements

Key Requirements for this Assurance Engineer role

  • 3+ years of experience in the application of engineering standards
  • HND in Engineering minimum + bachelor's degree in engineering or science
  • Understanding of steel plate manufacturing principles and constraints (incl. welding)
  • Understanding of load paths, failure modes, and operating limits of steel structures/ components.
  • Proven working knowledge of technical standards for design and testing, relevant to BIIL core markets and products
  • Ability to utilise Autodesk 3D Inventor, AutoCAD and Autodesk Vault
  • Hold a valid SC Clearance or ability to obtain it

Package offered for this Assurance Engineer role

  • £32,000 - £38,000 salary (depending on experience)
  • 37hr/week - 12pm finish on a Friday
  • Training and Development
