I have an exciting opportunity for a Bid Manager to join a leading supplier of products and services in exterior lighting, with 30+ years experience in the development and delivery of a range of lighting solutions. Working with a range of customers including wholesalers, contractors, specifiers, designers, local authorities and end-users within a rang of sectors including Rail, Ports & Harbors, Sports, car parks and landscapes.

They are now looking for an experienced Bid Manager to be responsible for introducing and coordinating the bid process, development and maintaining a knowledge base of "standard" answers and templates, as well as identifying ways to improve the quality, consistency and efficiency of the bid response process.

Key Responsibilities for this Bid Manager role:

- Liaise with other teams and senior stake holders to ensure submissions are made on time and to the required quality.
- Support and drive the bid process.
- Compile, edit and proofread commercial proposals which contain technical content and designs ensuring that these are presented in a professional manner.
- Ensure that the most appropriate and relevant solutions for each bid are effectively pulled together from all areas of the business.
- Review and revise documents prepared by others and coordinate the preparation of those materials in a completed bid document.
- Determine the scope and timeline of new bids.
- Lead and coordinate the preparation of the bid ensuring that other contributors provide information on time to the correct standard answering the clients needs.
- Develop computer-based document store/library and reference materials including case studies.
- Review and improve other customer materials and develop a consistent set of standards for other commercial functions to allow.
- Develop a set of standard templates for less complex bids management of all aspects of the bid process.

Key requirements for this Bid Manager Role:

- Extensive bid writing experience technical awareness.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to provide leadership and guidance to less experienced personnel.
- Able to work to tight timescales particularly when developing proposals.
- Substantial experience using MS Office.
- Proactive in prioritising own workload and assigned areas of responsibility to others.
- Proven proactive approach to workload, able to use initiative and seek bid opportunities.
