Estimator
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a main contractor and work on a number of highways schemes.

To be considered for this Estimator role, you must have:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience in all aspects of first principle estimating.
- A “can-do” attitude, who will integrate into the team, adopting a collaborative approach to getting the job done.
- The ability to work autonomously when necessary as well as in a team environment.
- Experience in attending Client meetings with a good level of interactive communication skill.
- High level of experience in producing tenders for local authorities/government bodies, commercial/residential developers and industrial entities.
- Good working knowledge of current methods of construction and outputs.
- Sound working knowledge of NEC suite of contracts as well as an understanding of other forms of civil engineering contracts.
- The ability to review tender documents and understand their requirements.
- Identification of risks and opportunities and working with the team to develop tender submission strategies.
- Ability to produce BoQ’s from “plan and specification” tenders as well as working with prepared BOQ’s and developing schedules of rates.
- Experience in production of subcontract enquiries, compliance review, collation and integration into subcontract elements of the tender.
- Production of tender material requirements for the purposes of obtaining quotes from the procurement department.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and in particular a sound working knowledge of Conquest estimating software.
Skills required for this Estimator role include:
- Education: Degree/HNC/HND qualification but not essential
- Self-motivation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work to deadline
- Attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Good take off skills and BoQ preparation to suit tender requirement
- Good understanding of BoQ item coverage
- Systematic and transparent working practices
- Good working knowledge of construction methodology necessary for highway infrastructure, car parks, public realm, and industrial/commercial schemes
- Make accurate time and cost estimates, and resolve any issues that arise
- Ability to research construction documents and analyse specifications
- Preparing estimates to meet tender submission goals
- Ensuring that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before tender deadline
- Effective and efficient utilisation of resources
- Secure profitable works.
Package offered for this Estimator role:
· £300 - £400 per day
· Hybrid working
