Estimator

Job Description

I have an opportunity for an Estimator with a background in infrastructure to join a specialist multi-disciplined tier 1 contractor who work nationwide, known for their specialist rope access and rail services.

You'll be joining their expanding commercial team, reporting to the Head of Commercial and will be responsible for the end-to-end commercial process from the administration to the management of rail frameworks and infrastructure contracts.

Key responsibilities for this Estimator role:

- Responsible for estimating all project lifecycle stages, concept, study and detailed design.
- Prepare comprehensive bids and tender submissions within deadlines.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, overheads and subcontractor services for all projects.
- Produce subcontractor enquiry schedule, obtaining suggestions and feedback form the tender team, procurement department and contractor schedules.
- Conduct ongoing market research on current costs of material, rates and trends within the industry and negotiate with subcontractor and suppliers.


Experience required for this Estimator role:

- Engineering degree/certification - desirable
- Minimum 5 years estimating experience
- Demonstratable financial and commercial acumen
- Civil engineering project experience
- Rail experience
- Excellent proficiency of Microsoft Office including advanced excel.

Package offered for this Estimator role:

- Salary £50,000
- Company Vehicle/Car Allowance
- 30 days annual leave
- Company Pension
- Bonus Scheme
- 40 hours week, Mon-Fri
- Occasional travel to other sites
