Responsibilities:
- Field investigation and data collection
- Conduct field surveys to assess soil and rock conditions.
- Collecting samples and conducting laboratory tests to analyze soil and rock properties.
- Use geotechnical software and tools to interpret data and prepare reports.
Geotechnical analysis and design:
- Carrying out geotechnical calculations and analyzes to assess the stability, settlement and load-bearing capacity of foundations.
- Design of foundation and structural systems, retaining structures and slope stabilization measures.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate geotechnical aspects into the overall project design.
Risk assessment and risk mitigation:
- Identify geotechnical hazards and risks associated with projects.
- Develop mitigation strategies and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.
- Conducting geotechnical investigations for infrastructure resilience and disaster preparedness.
Project management and customer interaction:
- Manage geotechnical aspects of projects, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders and regulators.
- Providing technical expertise and support throughout the project cycle.
Compliance and quality control:
- Ensuring compliance with relevant norms, standards and regulations.
- Conduct quality control reviews of geotechnical reports and designs.
- Participate in peer reviews and technical discussions to improve project results.
Qualifications:
- Fluent knowledge of spoken and written German
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering or a related field.
- Professional experience as a geotechnical engineer, preferably in the consulting industry.
- Knowledge of geotechnical analysis software (e.g. PLAXIS, FLAC, GeoStudio) and CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
