Location: Derby

Salary: £43,000 - £45,000 plus car/allowance

Summary

A leading European supplier for railway electrification are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their team in Derby.

As a Procurement Specialist you will be responsible for:

- Implementing and managing the Sub-contract and Tender Procurement activities, adhering compliance with the business' processes/procedures and the overall Procurement and Supply Chain Management Strategy.
- Carry out the Subcontract and tender procurement processe
- Preparation of ITT's, obtain quotations/tenders, Subcontracts.
- Compilation of data relating to supplier responses, highlighting inconsistencies and differences to allow the full quotation/tender adjudication process to be completed.
- Complete supplier evaluations for designated procurement exercises as required when bids are returned.
- Complete supplier negotiations and post tender/quotation meetings as required to enable short listing of suppliers.
- Prepare order/contract award recommendations as required by the Project and Central Teams.
- Taking ownership of reporting function and requirements for the Sub-contract and tender procurement activities
- Spend forecasting, supplier performance and improvement plans, sustainability reporting and client based reports.
- Liaising with project delivery team to assist with the resolution of supply chain issues as and when required.
- Monitor the supply market to identify potential new suppliers/products and meeting with suppliers to advance any innovation.

Seeking candidate with:

- The ability to establish performance led, long term supplier relationships focusing on value for money, service and product quality and continuous improvement to drive competitive advantage for the business
- Substantial project and central buying experience within a Project related environment.
- A proven track record leading Subcontracts and ITT procurement processes and delivery of activities within a major project environment.
- Good levels of numeracy, organisational and communication skills
- Computer-literate
- Full driving licence
- Valid UK driving licence
- Willing to Travel as required
