Project Manager

South East - Chelmsford area

Freelance, outside IR35

6 months minimum, end of January start

We work extensively with this client and they have an exceptional positive order book for the next 5 years.

We are looking for a Project Manager who is happy to be based in the South East, largely based on site, in Essex area.

We need someone confident of managing  our clients in key Gas Transmission Asset Upgrade. Ideally you will have worked for or along side  National Grid or Cadent Gas.

Duties and Responsibilities although not limited to

Ability to work collaboratively within a team and assist with all aspects of project delivery;  preparing and maintaining project documentation, including Risk Register, Issue Register, Daily Log, Project schedules, Project Budgets and Governance approvals;

Ensuring that appropriate project controls are maintained and updated having regard to budgets, schedule, scope, quality risk and other performance indicators.

Assist with the tracking and updating of project control documents including budgets, schedules, risk logs, communications logs etc.

Identifying and managing internal and external project Stakeholders, ensuring regular and timely communications at all levels,

Provide up to date and accurate reports on the Project progress and highlight any potential risk to the relevant parties.

Competencies: Knowledge & Experience

You will have 5+ years relevant experience preferably with a construction / energy / engineering background.  

Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations the Designer and principal Contractor's role.

Knowledge of the industry, environment and context, experience working within a similar regulated utility environment;

Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience;
