Navartis are currently looking for experienced Bridge Engineers to work for an engineering consultancy to be based out of their York office.
This role is an opening for someone who is looking to progress their career forward - working on complex elements such as structures and rail, there is room for growth and further upskill in the future. The position is ideal for someone wanting to lean heavily into a technical position.
Key responsibilities include:
Involvement in checking of design calculations and drawings
Utilising software packages to perform structural analysis and calculations
Provide conceptual and detailed design input - adhereing to requirements of projects
Build and maintain relationships with various parties such as contractors, consultants and clients - attending relevant meetings to represent the business
Project management of a variety of different sized projects
Assist in preparing fee proposals
Attending on site visits/structural inspections and investigations
The Ideal candidate:
A relevant degree (civil/structural engineering) would be ideal for the role
Professional membership accreditation of ICE/IstructE (or working towards)
Previous experience within a role of similar capacity - involving design, assessment as well as liaising with third parties
Experience within the rail sector on structures (bridges, tunnels, stations or buildings). Experience also within highways on relevant bridge projects will be considered
Previous work on scoping of projects, assisting in design coordination and aspects such as contracts/finance management
A willingness to help more junior colleagues where needed, such as calculation review and markups
Experience as a CRE would be expected for a principal level appointment
