A leading housing developer based in Warwickshire who specialise in the construction and development of high-quality residential properties are seeking an experienced Technical Manager with an Engineering background to join the team on a permanent basis.

As they continue to expand and win new projects, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Manager to join the team.

The Technical Manager Role:

As the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of housing development projects from conception to completion. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders including architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects within agreed timelines, quality standards and budget constraints. Your technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining the companies reputation for excellence.

The position has a main focus on the Engineering aspect of house building so the successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of technical agreements such as S278, S38 and S104 agreements and have experience commissioning road and sewer design work for tenders. 

Responsibilities of the Technical Manager:

  • Lead and manage the technical aspects of multiple housing development projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers and other consultants during the design and planning phase to develop innovative and sustainable housing solutions that meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and regulatory authorities to resolve technical issues, provide guidance and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges related to technical aspects of projects, develop mitigation strategies and proactively resolve issues to minimise disruptions and delays.
  • Provide effective leadership and guidance to the technical team including engineers and coordinators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

To be considered for the Technical Manager position:

  • Degree in Engineering or similar construction related field
  • Minimum 2 years in a similar technical management role within housing or 3+ years experience as a Technical Coordinator.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction practices, building regulations and industry standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of fostering collaboration, mentoring team members and achieving collective goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
